Tonight, a little Italy beneath the blast furnaces

Some evenings are made for celebrating, and this is one of them. This Saturday 4 July, from 6 pm, the blast-furnace terrace in Belval comes alive for the 11th Fête des Hauts Fourneaux, hosted by Fonds Belval. Close to 3,000 people gather here every year, in the heart of one of Luxembourg’s great industrial-heritage sites. This year, we can’t wait to be part of it.

MyCaffé will be there all evening, with a menu made for the occasion. You’ll find our Panzerotti, golden and generous, in the classico or turkey-ham version. Our pasta speaks plainly of Italy, from a sunny, honest Pasta Napoli to the finer, more coastal Pasta zucchine e scampi. For a lighter pause between the animations, the rice salad with tuna does exactly what it should. And because a summer evening without something sweet would hardly be a summer evening, there’s the scoop of gelato, the tiramisu, and its strawberry twist.

All around us, the programme promises plenty of surprises. Artistic performances, activities for children, concerts and free tours of the Haut Fourneau, open at no charge from 6 pm to 9 pm, with guides on hand to share the story of the site and how it worked. The more adventurous can take on the zip line, no booking needed, sign-up on site while places last. And at 10.30 pm, the great fire show will set the night alight.
